It has come to the notice of the Indian authorities that some foreign visitors to India carry satellite telephones (Thuraya, Irridium, etc.) use of which is not permitted in India. Any foreigner found carrying or using such satellite telephones during their stay in India are liable to be detained and prosecuted under the relevant Indian laws and their satellite telephone instruments will be seized. All foreigners visiting India are requested to kindly make note of this restriction and refrain from carrying such satellite telephones while on their visit to India for any purpose.
